Creative Planning Portfolio holdings
Creative Planning is a wealth management firm, founded in 1983 as a small office in Kansas City and majority owned by its president and chief executive, Peter Mallouk. Mallouk started with the firm in 1999 as an estate planner and bought it in 2004. Its investing philosophy leans on low-cost index funds held for the long term, and it also puts client money into private markets such as private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure. Having grown on its own for years, the firm made its first acquisition in 2019, buying the Minneapolis adviser The Johnston Group, and in 2023 it added BerganKDV, an accounting and wealth management firm. Its clients include high net worth individuals, retirement plans and charities.
