VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Methanex Corporation (the “Company” or “Methanex”) (TSX: MX) (Nasdaq: MEOH) announced today that it has issued a notice of partial redemption for US$300 million of its outstanding 5.125% senior notes due October 15, 2027. The redemption date is October 19, 2026.

Methanex gains from expanded North American capacity and OCI integration, but gas constraints, weak demand and Middle East conflict cloud near-term visibility.

Methanex has transformed into a more durable, cash-generating entity by acquiring OCI Global's methanol business and idling structurally disadvantaged facilities. MEOH's North American production focus, global logistics network, and reliable supply provide a competitive advantage amid global supply disruptions and tightening methanol markets. The company trades at steep valuation discounts (P/E 6.98, EV/EBITDA 4.74, P/CF 3.25) despite improved asset quality, liquidity, and cash flow predictability.

MEOH will idle its New Zealand production facilities in 2027 after selling gas entitlements amid declining domestic supply.
