Designed to provide broad exposure to the Large Cap Value segment of the US equity market, the iShares S&P 500 Value ETF (IVE) is a passively managed exchange traded fund launched on May 22, 2000.

The momentum risk factor has been leading the field in recent history, but there are signs that a rotation may be underway, based on a set of ETFs through yesterday's close (July 20). After a long run of relatively weak small-cap results, the recent strength for these shares raises the possibility that a leadership rotation may be developing.

I reiterate a buy rating on iShares S&P 500 Value ETF as it reaches new record highs amid favorable macro data. IVE benefits from strong technical momentum, diversified sector and size exposure, and modest volatility, with support at $223 and near-term targets of $239–$248. Valuation is no longer cheap at 18.5x P/E and a PEG just below 2.0x, but robust absolute and relative strength justifies continued optimism.
