Ethereum ETFs just logged nine straight sessions of outflows and shed nearly $2 billion in assets, but the real story behind those numbers tells a very different tale about where institutional confidence actually stands.

Bitcoin ETFs have seen significant inflows in recent weeks. That's happening in part because institutions engage in both the basis trade and the debasement trade.

The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF remains the largest and most liquid spot Bitcoin ETF, with $69 billion in assets under management. I maintain a 'Strong Buy' rating on IBIT, supported by Bitcoin's price recovery and strong net inflows of $3.96 billion over the last twelve months. IBIT offers a straightforward vehicle for Bitcoin exposure, benefiting from Bitcoin's 59% market dominance and institutional adoption.

Digital asset fund flows across all issuers lost momentum this week, a marked slowdown after US$11.1B of inflows since mid-July. Much of that earlier demand appears to have reflected investors buying at depressed valuations, though concerns around US fiscal sustainability have become an increasingly important part of the allocation case.
