FTSE 100 hits one-month high as falling gilt yields spark a bank-stock rally
Britain's FTSE 100 climbed to its highest level in nearly a month on Thursday as falling gilt yields and stronger-than-expected economic data gave investors a reason to favour large UK financial stocks. The blue-chip index rose 0.54% to 10,782.98, its highest since September 18, while the more domestically exposed FTSE 250 slipped 0.07%.
