Blackstone Secured Lending: A Solid Balance Sheet But About To Cut Its Dividend - HOLD
Blackstone Secured Lending Fund is rated HOLD, with a strong bias to upgrade after a likely dividend reset. BXSL's first dividend shortfall in 28 quarters signals an imminent payout cut, already telegraphed by management in consecutive quarters. Credit quality is stabilizing: non-accruals fell to 1.8% of fair value, and the balance sheet remains robust with $2.8B liquidity.

Why I Won't Risk My Dividends On ARCC And BXSL
BDCs trade at a 29% discount to NAV, close to COVID-era lows, even though today's economy is much stronger. Even conservative SaaS write-down and redemption scenarios fall far short of justifying the sector-wide discount. However, the opportunity set is not even (the average is comprised of many outliers).

2 High-Yield Names Out Of Favor And Beaten Down
REITs and BDCs can be a popular choice among dividend investors as they can often provide regular cash flow to their investors. Income-focused investors often look for names that provide high yields, but looking for simply the highest yields often isn't the best strategy. Today, we'll be looking at 2 names that provide high yields to investors and are currently very out of favor, but not expected to go extinct.

Blackstone Secured Lending's NAV, Valuation, And Dividend Versus 11 BDC Peers - Part 2 (Includes Calendar Q4 2026 - Q1 2027 Dividend Projections)
Part 2 of this article compares Blackstone Secured Lending's recent dividend per share rates, yield percentages, and several other highly detailed (and useful) dividend sustainability metrics to 11 other BDC peers. BXSL remains cautious regarding near-term dividend sustainability; even when undistributed taxable income remains high-very high. 6 covered peers already reduced dividends during Q1-Q2 2026. A BXSL dividend cut during Q4 2026 is not a 100% probability but the odds of a late 2026-early 2027 reduction remains (analyzing the forward yield curve and credit risk).

Blackstone Secured Lending: Don't Buy Before The Likely Upcoming Dividend Cut (Rating Downgrade)
BXSL shared even more negative signs that suggest the upcoming dividend cut. Even the management mentioned a transition to lower dividend levels. I expect a dividend reset in 2026, which will likely result in a valuation pullback.

Blackstone Secured Lending: Buy This High Yield At A Discount
Blackstone Secured Lending Fund offers a compelling high-income opportunity, supported by a $13.4B portfolio with 96.8% first-lien secured debt. BXSL's diversified portfolio, improving borrower health, and declining nonaccruals underpin downside protection and attractive risk-adjusted returns. At a 0.96x price-to-NAV and 12.6% yield, expectations for a dividend cut appear priced in.

The Party Is Over For These 3 Former BDC Dividend Darlings
The BDC sector thrived post-COVID as low rates and strong underwriting supported robust dividends and performance. Rising rates initially sparked default fears, but BDCs benefited from higher coupons and stable funding costs, with limited non-accrual uptick. Since early 2025, most BDCs have cut dividends, and total returns now barely match inflation or T-bill rates.
