A covered call ETF paying a 17% annual distribution should be quietly destroying its own NAV, yet this Nasdaq-focused fund keeps defying that logic in a way that forces a closer look at how it actually works.

TappAlpha Innovation 100 Growth & Daily Income ETF offers a compelling 17.6% yield via daily call options on the NASDAQ-100, targeting income amid volatility. TDAQ's aggressive growth exposure through QQQM and daily 0DTE options has delivered superior total returns versus GPIQ and QQQI over the past year. The fund's higher expense ratio (0.83%) is justified by its stronger income and capital preservation compared to regular equity selling or lower-fee peers.

Call-writing S&P 500 ETFs can all differ in overwrite aggressiveness, option tenor, and upside participation, impacting performance in various market regimes. In flat or slightly downward markets, funds with a larger notional value overwrite can tend to outperform due to elevated premium collection. On the other hand, the lower overwrite percentages and laddered call strategies better capture upside in rising or volatile markets, making them stronger performers.

My ultra-high-yield portfolio now includes GPTY, replacing UTES:CA to enhance AI/tech diversification and total return potential. GPTY's call-spread strategy and actual stock holdings have delivered a 32.42% total return over six months, outperforming FEPI, AIPI, and QQQ. Portfolio yield has increased to 26.20%, with 1-year total return averaging 37.15%, both substantially ahead of major benchmarks.

TappAlpha Innovation 100 Growth & Daily Income ETF (TDAQ) is rated BUY, offering a 13%+ yield while closely tracking the Nasdaq-100's upside. TDAQ's daily out-of-the-money call strategy has limited upside giveback to just 1.6 percentage points over six months, validating the income-for-upside trade-off. I expect an 8% to 12% total return over the next 6–12 months if large-cap growth earnings remain healthy and the Nasdaq's pace moderates.

TappAlpha Innovation 100 Growth & Daily Income ETF (TDAQ) leverages 0DTE options to extract income from the Nasdaq-100, offering a novel covered call approach. TDAQ's active management and daily option overlays have enabled it to outperform peers and closely track Nasdaq upside, particularly during sharp rallies. The ETF currently yields a 17% distribution, though payouts may fluctuate; long-term sustainability is tied to Nasdaq performance and capital gains.

My 21% yielding ETF portfolio continues to outperform major benchmarks in yield and total return, with recent strategic additions enhancing diversification. I replaced funds (AMZP, NVHE.U) with better suited ETFs, including quality Canadian and international equities with covered call overlays and modest leverage. New positions like CANY:CA, SIXY:CA, INTY:CA, YNVD:CA, YAVG:CA, and TDAX/TDAQ target sustainable high income, robust EPS growth, and exposure to leading sectors.

TappAlpha Innovation 100 Growth & Daily Income ETF offers a differentiated, high-yield covered call strategy ideal for income-focused portfolios in today's inflationary environment. TDAQ's indirect Nasdaq exposure via ODTE options and treasuries enables flexibility, cost efficiency, and strong distribution stability, with a current yield near 17%. Since inception, TDAQ has outperformed peers JEPQ and QQQI on both price return and total return while maintaining steady, tax-efficient distributions.

TDAQ is a covered call ETF that sells OTM options against the Nasdaq-100 exposure. It offers a compelling mix of attractive monthly yield, reduced opportunity cost, and strong QQQ correlation. Recently, TDAQ has outperformed some of the very well-known covered call ETF peers.
