Semiconductors remain one of the equity market's most vital and volatile sectors, sitting at the center of several major investment themes, from artificial intelligence (AI) and data center spending to smartphones, autos, and broader technology demand.

As ETF strategies continue to expand into new asset classes and structures, the SEC has been taking a closer look at how some of these products fit within existing regulations.

I rate the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X ETF a Strong Sell due to insufficient technical breakdown and persistent AI hardware demand. SOXS is highly volatile and best used for short-term tactical trades, not as a long-term bearish semiconductor position. Technical signals for SOXS entry remain weak: it sits below its 50-day average with RSI under 50, while SOXX has not broken its broader trend.

AI stocks face heightened pressure from rising oil prices and correction fears. Inverse ETFs could benefit from further weakness.

The Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares (NYSEARCA:SOXS) jumped 8.95% on Monday, closing at $4.45, as the largest names in the chip complex reversed sharply.

The race to launch ETFs tied to SK Hynix Inc (NASDAQ:SKHY) is about more than one of the largest ADR listings in history—it's a bet that investors are beginning to look beyond AI chipmakers like Nvidia and toward the memory companies powering the next generation of artificial intelligence infrastructure.

New York, United States, June 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Direxion to Split Nine ETFs New York, United States, June 26th, 2026, NewsDirect Corrected CUSIPs for TECS and SOXS Direxion announced on June 10, 2026 it will execute forward share splits for two of its exchange-traded funds (“ETFs”), as well as reverse share splits for an additional seven ETFs. The total market value of the shares outstanding will not be affected as a result of these splits, except with respect to the redemption of fractional shares, as outlined below.

Just a day after making new all-time records, the semiconductor sector is down almost 7% and traders are finding a cheap way to bet on a bigger pivot.
