The global energy transition is advancing, but fossil fuels still outperform renewables on return rates, slowing structural change. Renewables have achieved cost competitiveness and scale, yet overcoming the price barrier requires robust public policy and carbon pricing.

Invesco's PBW ETF tracks the WilderHill® Clean Energy Index, focusing on companies advancing clean energy and pollution prevention. PBW's selection process emphasizes ecological and technical criteria over financial metrics, resulting in a unique but undiversified portfolio. PBW underperformed the S&P 500 over five years (-52% vs. +71%) but outperformed over the past year (29% vs. 19%).

Power demand could surge for decades. Renewables may remain big winners. Two dividend growers offer a way to profit.

A deepening sell-off gripped Wall Street midday Wednesday as crude oil spiked on a fresh U.S.-Iran escalation just hours before the Federal Reserve's rate verdict, dragging the S&P 500 to four-week lows and knocking the Nasdaq 100 down more than 10% from prior records.

While volatile oil prices have taken much of the spotlight in the energy sector this year, increasing global energy security concerns amid geopolitical tensions, soaring data center energy demand, and substantial international investment have propelled clean energy ETF gains in 2026.

A deepening sell-off in chip and memory stocks dragged all four major U.S. equity indexes lower by midday Tuesday.

U.S. stocks splintered Tuesday as a violent global sell-off in semiconductor shares hammered the Nasdaq, even as a rotation into defensive sectors and small caps kept the Dow Jones in positive territory through midday trading.

Clean energy stocks caught a bid Monday as company-specific catalysts collided with a broader sector tailwind less than four weeks before a critical legislative deadline expires.

A $10,000 stake in the Invesco WilderHill Clean Energy ETF (NYSEARCA:PBW) at Thursday's close was worth ~$8,920 by Friday's close, and the cause traces directly to a sharp move in two-year Treasury yields rather than to anything inside a single clean energy company.

The SPDR S&P Kensho Clean Power ETF (NYSEARCA:CNRG) and the Invesco WilderHill Clean Energy ETF (NYSEARCA:PBW) both sit in the clean energy aisle, but they are not interchangeable.
