With Tax Day 2026 now in the rear view mirror, some investors may feel more inspired to optimize their portfolio in terms of tax efficiency. When it comes to maximizing tax-efficient total return, many turn to municipal bonds as a potential solution.

It's no secret that cultivating regular income, along with long-term principal preservation, is key to reaching one's retirement goals. Still, it's not easy to find investment strategies that reach both of these goals.

Northern Trust Asset Management has launched three new fixed income exchange-traded fund (ETF) suites, catering to fixed income investors looking for laddering strategies that focus specifically on municipal and inflation-linked bonds as well as those looking for core muni options to complement a portfolio. The three product suites include 11 ETFs total.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Northern Trust Asset Management has launched three suites of fixed income ETFs today. The 11 new ETFs are the first funds under the new Northern Trust ETFs brand. Two suites of innovative distributing ladder ETFs use patent-pending technology designed to help investors manage the decumulation phase of retirement income and achieve cash flow management goals, while minimizing taxes or protecting against inflation.
