The 60/40 portfolio looked broken in 2022 when stocks and bonds collapsed together, but rebuilding it today starts from a fundamentally different position, and two obscure ETFs make the case that fees no longer deserve a place in the equation.

BNY Mellon U.S. Large Cap Core Equity ETF (BKLC) offers zero-fee exposure to large-cap U.S. equities, heavily concentrated in technology. BKLC's top 10 holdings, mostly tech giants, account for 38.4% of the portfolio, raising concentration risk amid narrowing mega-cap earnings dominance. Despite a 27.3% valuation premium over mid-caps, the large-cap segment's expected earnings growth advantage is just 1 percentage point for 2027.

ETF fees have been racing toward zero for years, but one fund has already crossed the finish line and is somehow still pulling ahead of the competition.

The VettaFi Editorial team met for a New York City onsite this week, confabbing over the latest news and important changes in the ETF ecosystem. As part of that gathering, writers and editors came together to share some of their favorite ETFs and ETF tickers, celebrating the creativity and innovation throughout.

The BNY Investments ETF lineup has now surpassed a key milestone. As of September 18, 2026, BNY Investments' collection of ETFs now has a total of more than $20 billion in assets under management.

The race to the bottom in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) price war has reached its (presumable) final destination, with a growing number of funds available to investors for no annual fee. These zero-fee funds and their ultra-low-fee competitors have the potential to improve long-term returns because they leave as much of the portfolio's return with the investor as possible.

The BNY Mellon US Large Cap Core Equity ETF (BKLC) was launched on April 9, 2020, and is a passively managed exchange traded fund designed to offer broad exposure to the Large Cap Blend segment of the US equity market.

BNY Mellon US Large Cap Core Equity ETF is rated Hold due to concentration risks and macroeconomic headwinds. BKLC's zero-fee policy offers negligible performance advantage; it lacks a long track record compared to peers. BKLC's heavy tech and communication sector exposure heightens sensitivity to interest rates and AI-driven market dynamics.
