ETF issuers continue to push the boundaries of product innovation and unconventional strategies attract greater attention, as regulators consider the next wave of novel ETFs outlined in my previous research note.

Emphasis on regional gaming assets reduces tenant performance volatility, insulating GLPI from Las Vegas tourism slumps while supporting resilient performance metrics. GLPI's robust fundamentals, discounted Price/AFFO of 9.12x, and dividend yield of 8.70% create compelling return prospects. Risks include the higher borrowing costs environment, GLPI's seasonally weaker trading months through October, and mixed optics from VICI tenants' take-private/merger negotiations.

Collectively, consumer discretionary stocks have had a difficult year. Of the S&P 500's 11 sectors, that corner of the market has fared the worst in 2026 with a more than 6% year-to-date (YTD) loss.

Volatility Shares and Roundhill have both filed for 32 NHL team ETFs. I think investors, hockey fans, and gamblers should avoid all of them, whichever issuer wins. I ran the 2025-2026 season through the FutureSports methodology. The index rankings and the NHL standings line up about 91% of the time. The VanEck Digital Native Economy ETF (NASDAQ:GENZ) is the same fund that traded for years as the VanEck Gaming ETF, VanEck Vectors Gaming ETF (NASDAQ:BJK), until VanEck flipped its mandate on April 9, 2026.

Rush Street Interactive could be a goal scorer for investors. Super Group offers similar potential.

In less than a month, the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, running June 11 through July 19, 2026.

Wall Street is about to let you put your money where your political predictions are. Roundhill Investments has filed prospectuses for ETFs tied directly to prediction markets on who wins the 2028 presidential election, plus the House and Senate. It's a groundbreaking development that blurs the line between investing and political betting.
