The iShares MSCI Singapore ETF has delivered respectable YTD returns of 17%, recently reaching lifetime highs before underperforming in the past few weeks. EWS faces headwinds from declining Singapore GDP growth (from a high threshold), although its important exposure to the global semiconductor supply chain may result in positive surprises. The ETF's heavy 55% exposure to banking stocks is concerning amid rising global GDP rates and potential net interest margin contraction.
