The president closed out his weekend visit to Ireland by making the announcement at the Irish Open golf tournament.

Trump made the announcement in front of a crowd ​of Irish golf fans at a tournament held at a course owned by ⁠his family.

The central bank now expects GDP to fall by 2.7% this year due to a large drop in U.S. exports, having forecast in March that it would grow by 1.3%.

It has been 225 days since President Trump's Inauguration on January 20th, and the S&P 500 entered today up 8% since the last close before the Inauguration. Speaking of the G7, the US has been the worst market among these seven developed nations since Inauguration Day in January. Along with being the second-best performing country ETF since Inauguration Day, Vietnamhas easily been the best performer since April 8th with a gain of 77.5%.

EZU slipped 0.6% past month despite stronger-than-expected Eurozone GDP growth and easing trade uncertainty. Growth in Spain, France and Ireland offset declines in Germany and Italy.

EIRL, which is not a pure-play Irish ETF and prone to plenty of churn, has lagged Eurozone stocks over the past year. Ireland's GDP growth in 2025 could benefit from a weak base effect, but tax repatriation risks and rising inflation are concerns. EIRL's valuations are cheap due to an underwhelming earnings outlook, while the dividend yield is not compelling enough despite stellar distributions last year.

US equities have outperformed the rest of the world for a long time now. While the US is up 58% on a total return basis during the current bull market, the rest of the world is up 13.5 percentage points less at +44.5%. Looking at the international dividend ETF over a longer time frame, over the last five years, it's up 20.6% in price and more than double that on a total return basis.
