iShares US Telecommunications ETF

IYZ

時価総額 $9.7億

Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Inc., and T-Mobile US, Inc. sold off 10–13% on Starlink spectrum news, creating a rare high-yield entry point. Starlink's competitive threat is years away, with satellite launches not starting until late 2027 and a viable ground network requiring $70B+ and significant time. Current FCF yields are ~12%, dividends ~5%, and recent guidance/earnings show strong cash flow, low churn, and rising margins across all three carriers.

Telecommunications stocks sold off sharply on Oct. 10 after Elon Musk's SpaceX agreed to acquire a nationwide spectrum portfolio to expand Starlink's satellite internet business into mobile services.

Volatility Shares and Roundhill have both filed for 32 NHL team ETFs. I think investors, hockey fans, and gamblers should avoid all of them, whichever issuer wins. I ran the 2025-2026 season through the FutureSports methodology. The index rankings and the NHL standings line up about 91% of the time. Most stats carry equal positive and negative attribution, but penalties and clinches do not. That one-way scoring drags the whole league about 2% lower by season end.

Institutional investors are becoming more selective on AI and tech. Here are the stocks and ETFs that could help investors follow the smart money.

Cisco's post-earnings sell-off spotlights four ETFs offering exposure to its AI-driven growth while cushioning single-stock risks.

iShares U.S. Telecommunications ETF is a buy due to its stable cash flows and dividend income potential from mature telecom holdings. IYZ's top holdings—Cisco, Verizon, and AT&T—anchor the fund with durable networks, benefiting from AI infrastructure and fiber expansion. Despite underperforming peers like VOX and XTL, IYZ offers a higher dividend yield (1.69%) and attractive long-term risk/reward through steady income streams.

Investors have started to question how sustainable BDC dividends are. A lot of this skepticism is logical and justified by valid reasons. My calculus shows that on average BDCs could cut their dividends by 20% in order to avoid NAV erosion.

Yield for traditional income sources have started to compress. For income-oriented investors, who seek to build a reliable passive income machine it causes a real headache. To hit a certain target income figure, investors have to assume either higher risks, extend time horizon or save/invest more capital.

Over the last 100 trading days, or roughly five months, the S&P 500 Index (SPX) has surged more than 25%.

IYZ underperforms both its peer XTL and the S&P 500, with disappointing returns and unattractive projected industry growth. The U.S. telecom sector faces slow growth (3-3.7% CAGR), increasing headwinds from big tech, and limited upside from AI and 5G trends. Given industry perspectives, valuation concerns, and better alternatives, I do not recommend IYZ; targeted exposure to select companies is preferable.
