Investor appetite for fixed income continues to expand, as evidenced by the latest weekly ETF inflows report from TD Securities. For the week ending August 14, 2026, U.S.-listed ETFs gathered $41.0 billion in total weekly net inflows, which included $13.2 billion into fixed income funds.

If the first few months of 2026 can serve as any indication, we believe shifting macroeconomic conditions are not exactly going to go away any time soon. For advisors, this can lead to difficulty in making sure their clients meet their financial goals.

Investors don't always notice when regimes shift. Even as interest rates rose at an almost unprecedented speed and are back to levels not seen in more than a decade, investors have in many ways stuck to what worked in a low rate regime.

Calamos Advisors has launched the Calamos CEF Income & Arbitrage ETF (NYSE Arca: CCEF) on the New York Stock Exchange. The actively managed ETF seeks high current income and long-term capital appreciation.

Calamos expanded into exchange-traded products earlier this year, more recently launching the Calamos Convertible Equity Alternative ETF. The firm specializes in convertible securities and has offered both open-ended and closed-ended funds. CVRT is ultimately focused more on potential appreciation rather than yield, with a focus on convertibles with an "equity-like" tilt.

If the last year or two have taught investors anything, it's that alts can play a big role in portfolios. As recently as 2022, bonds struggled amid significantly low interest rates, with their role as a contrast to stocks weakened.
