Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Inc., and T-Mobile US, Inc. sold off 10–13% on Starlink spectrum news, creating a rare high-yield entry point. Starlink's competitive threat is years away, with satellite launches not starting until late 2027 and a viable ground network requiring $70B+ and significant time. Current FCF yields are ~12%, dividends ~5%, and recent guidance/earnings show strong cash flow, low churn, and rising margins across all three carriers.

The S&P 500 enters 2027 with robust earnings expectations but concentrated upward revisions, requiring selective sector allocation for outperformance. I rate Communication Services (XLC) and Information Technology (XLK) as Buy, citing attractive valuation-growth combinations and strong earnings momentum, respectively.

Meta's 27% September surge puts AI innovation in focus. Explore four ETFs offering exposure to META and the communication services and metaverse themes.

U.S. equity markets were mixed this week, with technology and growth-related areas leading, while several defensive and rate-sensitive sectors moved lower. The NASDAQ 100 ETF rose 3.24%, and the S&P 500 ETF gained 1.29%, supported by strong performance in Technology, Communication Services, Health Care, and Industrials.

Quietly, the communications sector has started to claw back some of the year's underperformance.

Political volatility should stay elevated even after Democrats retake the House this November, State Street Investment Management said. Republicans are still expected to hold the Senate, leaving little room for sweeping legislation.

Of all the equity sectors to gain focused exposure to, why should advisors and investors consider choosing communication services?  Key Takeaways: The communication services sector may be getting overlooked by some investors, given its unique opportunity set.

Volatility Shares and Roundhill have both filed for 32 NHL team ETFs. I think investors, hockey fans, and gamblers should avoid all of them, whichever issuer wins. I ran the 2025-2026 season through the FutureSports methodology. The index rankings and the NHL standings line up about 91% of the time. Most stats carry equal positive and negative attribution, but penalties and clinches do not. That one-way scoring drags the whole league about 2% lower by season end.

I reiterate a Hold rating on the Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLC) due to lackluster technicals and weak relative performance. XLC's valuation has improved with low P/E ratios, but long-term EPS growth remains modest at 6.22%, resulting in a PEG above 2.0x. Heavy concentration in GOOGL and META (36% combined) means sector performance hinges on these names, which currently lack near-term catalysts.
