Vanguard Short-Term Inflation-Protected Securities ETF offers a low-cost, low-risk way to hedge against inflation with minimal interest-rate sensitivity. VTIP tracks the Bloomberg U.S. TIPS 0–5 Year Index, focusing on short-duration TIPS to reduce exposure to interest-rate fluctuations. The fund's average maturity is approximately 2.6 years, making it suitable for short-term inflation hedging while also locking in structurally higher real interest yields.

The Fed has indicated that rate cuts are unlikely in 2026. That means investors should be careful about investing in longer-term bonds.
