State Street SPDR Portfolio Emerging Markets ETF offers a 251 bps risk premium versus a near-zero S&P 500 premium. SPEM delivers a forward earnings yield of 6.91%, outpacing the S&P 500's 4.65–4.93%, with a 2.46% dividend yield. Despite higher volatility (14.58% vs. 13.44% for S&P 500), SPEM's expected Sharpe ratio (0.229) remains superior to SPY (0.177).
