The Invesco S&P 500 Pure Value ETF (RPV) made its debut on 03/01/2006, and is a smart beta exchange traded fund that provides broad exposure to the Style Box - Large Cap Value category of the market.

The gap between value and growth stocks has significantly decreased this year, with Invesco's pure-style ETFs demonstrating just how much ground value has made up after trailing growth for some time now. The Invesco S&P 500 Pure Value ETF (RPV) has gained about 19.50% % year to date through August, according to ETF Database.

If you're interested in broad exposure to the Large Cap Value segment of the US equity market, look no further than the Invesco S&P 500 Pure Value ETF (RPV), a passively managed exchange traded fund launched on March 1, 2006.

Invesco S&P 500 Pure Value ETF offers a compelling 11.41x forward P/E and an improved 8.54% next-year EPS growth rate, both of which have supported a 20.38% YTD gain. Further gains to close the year are likely, and RPV's overweighting of Energy and Materials is appropriate, given my expectation of heightened commodity prices due to the Iran War. Still, quality issues persist. RPV's margins and capital efficiency ratios are well below those of broad-based value funds like SPYV as well as RPG, Invesco's S&P 500 Pure Growth ETF.

The purported death of value investing is widely lamented, but the reality is something different. Value investing is alive, but value stocks have long lagged growth counterparts.

The S&P 500 is a weighted index, so companies with larger market caps influence its value the most. That setup could expose investors to more risk than they want to take on.

Overvaluation fears, geopolitical tensions and rising stagflation risks are driving investors toward low-volatility and value-focused ETFs.
