Private credit (PC) is a corner of the capital markets that is rapidly crossing over from institutional portfolios into wealth management channels. PC offers individual investors unprecedented access to middle-market yield, but accessing these institutional returns often comes with significant liquidity, fee, and structural trade-offs.

NEW YORK, Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Simplify Asset Management Inc. announces that the previously disclosed net asset values (NAVs) per share of the Simplify VettaFi Private Credit Strategy ETF (NYSE Arca: PCR) from March 17 to September 1, 2026 have been restated effective September 3, 2026, as follows:

In the current extended higher-for-longer interest rate environment, income-focused investors face an ongoing challenge that involves finding attractive yields without taking on heavy credit risk. Traditional fixed income strategies have been exposed to additional uncertainty amid potential shifts in interest rate policy.

Robust institutional demand paired with rising default rates and liquidity stress paints a tricky landscape for investors to navigate private credit. While the yields private credit offers may entice, investors need to prepare for the nuances tied to current market conditions.

Institutional interest in private credit (PC) is surging. According to Marsh's 2026 Global Insurance Investments Survey, 57% of insurers plan to increase their private credit allocations over the next 12 to 24 months, which constitutes a massive leap from just 32% the previous year.

The rapid expansion of private credit established the asset class as an alternative for portfolio diversification. However, its lack of public transaction data has historically posed valuation challenges.

In the current higher-for-longer interest rate regime, more fixed income investors are seeking alternate paths to diversify their income sources. One option that may not have yet considered is private credit or more specifically, the Simplify Private Credit Strategy ETF (PCR).

Redemption pressure in non-traded business development companies, funds that invest in small and midsize private U.S. businesses, shows little sign of easing. Looking at the underlying portfolios of BDCs, the fundamental picture is not breaking, but it is not healing, either. Notwithstanding the many fundamental challenges that will continue to pressure direct lending portfolios, the broader takeaway is that private credit is not a monolithic asset class.

The pathways into Defined Contribution (DC) plans could be opening up for private credit. According to PIMCO's 2026 Defined Contribution Consulting Study, private market asset classes are starting to gain greater acceptance within default funds.
