Bitcoin dipped below $80,000 for the first time in roughly a month Thursday before rebounding later in the session. Adam Lynch (@CharlesSchwab) turns to what he's watching when it comes to price action in Bitcoin and Ethereum as they remain 25% and 35% lower year-over-year, respectively.

Buying bitcoin once meant handing over cash or wiring money to Tokyo, said Henri Arslanian, co-founder of Nine Blocks Capital Management. He described how access has changed, from bank closures to ETFs, stablecoins, and tokenization.

Gold has managed to push back above $4,100 an ounce, but the precious metal continues to face significant headwinds from persistent inflation fears, which are driving hawkish monetary policies around the world.

Jenny Kovacs returns to Crypto Corner and sits down with Adam Lynch of @CharlesSchwab to talk about the latest moves in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Though Bitcoin and Ethereum have pulled back from their recent rallies, Adam says that ETF inflows show a "much more constructive" picture compared to this time last year.

This weekly update tracks some of the largest cryptocurrencies by market share: Bitcoin and Ether. While both are considered high-risk assets, they possess foundational differences that investors should understand.

Ethereum ETFs just logged nine straight sessions of outflows and shed nearly $2 billion in assets, but the real story behind those numbers tells a very different tale about where institutional confidence actually stands.

Bitcoin ETFs have seen significant inflows in recent weeks. That's happening in part because institutions engage in both the basis trade and the debasement trade.

David Marcus, the Lightspark co-founder and chief executive, said Bitcoin's next wave of growth will come from acting as invisible settlement infrastructure for banks and payment networks. That matters more than consumers spending Bitcoin directly at checkout.

Digital asset fund flows across all issuers lost momentum this week, a marked slowdown after US$11.1B of inflows since mid-July. Much of that earlier demand appears to have reflected investors buying at depressed valuations, though concerns around US fiscal sustainability have become an increasingly important part of the allocation case.

Bitcoin has fallen sharply towards US$80,000 as rising oil prices, elevated US bond yields and accelerating withdrawals from cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds trigger another wave of selling across digital assets. The world's largest cryptocurrency was trading around US$81,710 at the latest check, down about 1.8% on the session after falling as low as US$80,432.
