Bitcoin and Solana still have clear long-term catalysts. XRP and Cardano face a murkier future.

The United States spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have attracted more than $300 million in cash inflows during the third quarter (Q3) of 2026.

Of the top 20 spot crypto ETFs, 12 are dedicated to Bitcoin and six to Ethereum. Bitcoin has the properties of both a risk-on and a risk-off asset, making it a unique portfolio diversifier.

Although the XRP community saw its largest cryptocurrency exchange hack of 2026 on September 26, as Finbold reported, this token climbed towards its key resistance level around $1.6.

On Monday, seasoned trader Peter Brandt forecast a potential fourfold jump in XRP's (CRYPTO: XRP) price as the fifth-largest cryptocurrency regained momentum.

The Bitwise XRP ETF is rated Hold due to the limited impact of ETF inflows on the underlying token's price and persistent price weakness. ETF access and liquidity have improved, with Bitwise leading daily trading volumes, but cumulative inflows remain a small fraction of XRP's $84B market cap. Regulatory clarity is improving, yet ETF demand has not translated into sustained upward price momentum for XRP itself.

As of early evening on Sept. 8, Bitcoin (BTC -0.88%) fell 0.9% to $78,475.12, Ethereum (ETH -0.39%) fell 0.1% to $2,484.36, and Solana (SOL -0.58%) fell 0.6% to $103.37.

Bitcoin (BTC +5.63%) rose 5.5% to $81,491.82, Ethereum (ETH +4.80%) rose 5.2% to $2,511.01, and Solana (SOL +5.46%) rose 5.9% to $105.30 as of early evening on Sept. 3. The total crypto market cap increased 4.7% to $2.82 trillion as crypto risk appetite returned.

Although Ripple Labs continued to increase the supply of XRP via its monthly unlocks as of September 2, 2026, the token's supply on Binance, a top-tier cryptocurrency exchange, has fallen by more than 500 million in slightly over 9 months.

August delivered strong gains across shipping, crypto, precious metals, biotech, copper, uranium and cloud software ETFs.
