WEEL employs a systematic option wheel strategy, selling cash-secured puts and, on assignment, covered calls to harvest option premium as its primary income source. The strategy's risk-reward profile shifts across market regimes: premium-driven income can cushion flat or declining markets, while covered calls cap upside in strong rallies. Within the derivative income category, WEEL's put-writing leg differentiates it from the covered call-dominated peer set, giving it a distinct income profile.

WEEL begins by writing out-of-the-money (OTM) cash-secured put options on a portfolio consisting primarily of sector ETFs, although it may also use other liquid ETFs with elevated implied volatility.

On Thursday, Peerless Wealth rolled out the Peerless Option Income Wheel ETF (WEEL). The fund is actively managed and seeks to provide investors with current income.
