Four ultra-high-yield stocks are paying out this week, but the window to collect closes as early as today's market close, and not all of them have clean coverage stories behind that income.

2 High-Quality CEFs That Are Likely To Slash Their Payouts
2 popular infrastructure CEFs look like solid choices for income investors, but their payouts tell a different story. A close look at their latest reports shows where the distributions are really coming from. Rising leverage costs, duration risks, and exposure to one crowded market trade add risks that most investors overlook.

2 Top Dividend Powerhouses To Buy On The Dip For Retirees
Higher interest rates have pushed down the prices of many income-producing securities, which creates better entry yields for investors who can tell temporary pressure from real damage. Some high-yield names now face deteriorating fundamentals or rely on the return of capital to fund their payouts, so I'd be cautious with them. I highlight two dividend picks whose sell-offs look driven by rate fears and sector sentiment, not by broken business models.

Oxford Lane Capital: Get $1 Billion, Only To Lose $925 Million In 12 Months
Oxford Lane Capital doubled its size by raising $1B in new equity, driven by high-yield demand in 2024. Over 90% of OXLC's raised capital evaporated within a year, with NAV dropping $925M due to unrealized and realized losses. OXLC's payout exceeds sustainable levels, distributing $2.40 annually versus a $1.19 effective yield, risking future NAV erosion.

I'm Buying These Funds At Historically High Discounts
While broad equity indices sit near historically elevated multiples, the CLO space has faced severe spread compression and secondary market discounts wider than those seen during the March 2020 panic. Evidence continues to build that CLO equity Net Asset Values established a cyclical floor in March 2026, with NAVs stabilizing and climbing across Q2 reporting. Despite widespread market fears of a corporate default wave, actual credit loss rates remain manageable, allowing high-yielding tranches to generate substantial underlying cash flow.

2 High-Yields Trading At Historic Lows
S&P 500 Valuation Warning: The broader equity market is trading at valuation levels reminiscent of late-1990s dot-com highs, creating severe downside risk. OXLC trades at a deep discount to its Net Asset Value—a stark departure from its historical norm of trading at a persistent market premium. Experiential gaming REIT VICI Properties is trading near 11x P/AFFO, its lowest valuation since the March 2020 panic.
