Three covered call ETFs promise fat monthly checks, but the cash funding those payments does not always come from what you think. Before committing $250,000, understand where the money actually originates and what it costs you in the long run.

Payroll stops the moment you retire, and nothing steps in automatically to fill that gap. Four ETFs can rebuild a monthly income stream, but when and how you collect from them determines whether your checking account survives the wait.

Four ETFs sell options against some of the most volatile corners of the market to generate monthly cash, but the fund paying the most income also carries a risk most investors overlook before they buy.

Two Nasdaq covered call ETFs promise monthly income, but the one with the bigger yield hides a tax twist that changes the math entirely depending on where you hold it.

Two popular ETFs crossed the $15 billion in assets mark last week. The JPMorgan Core Plus Bond ETF (JCPB) and the NEOS Nasdaq 100 High Income ETF (QQQI).

Long-duration Treasuries finally offer an enticing yield, but several less obvious risks could undermine both the income and the hedge. Covered call ETFs share more with fixed income than most investors realize, and today's environment is paying them more for that role. The biggest, most popular covered call funds may fail exactly when defense is needed most.

QQQI sends a different check every month, and the gap between its best and worst payments is wide enough to break a budget built around either one.

JEPQ's 11% yield attracts millions of investors who assume less downside means faster recoveries, but the math from two separate market cycles tells a very different story about who actually benefits from this trade.

Putting $300,000 into a high-yield Nasdaq fund that pays monthly sounds like a retiree's dream, but the number your account statement never shows tells a very different story about what those monthly checks actually cost you.

Goldman and JPMorgan both run Nasdaq covered-call funds targeting monthly income, but October revealed something unexpected: one raised its payout while the other cut, and the better total return does not belong to the fund writing the bigger checks.
