CLOs were one of the best-performing income asset classes of prior years, due to aggressive Federal Reserve hikes. JBBB focuses on BBB-rated CLOs, and benefitted from the above, with significant outperformance since inception. Although the fund's performance and fundamentals somewhat worsened in prior years, both have stabilized YTD, and could improve as the Federal Reserve hikes rates.

Building a $100,000 dividend snowball is foundational for financial security and passive income. I detail how I would go about doing so in today's rising rate environment. I also share some specific picks and how to allocate capital on a percentage basis to build the snowball.

The retirement industry keeps repeating one number: $1.26 million, the average American's stated “magic number” for retirement in 2025.

I assign a Sell rating to Janus Henderson B-BBB CLO ETF (JBBB), citing an unfavorable environment for mezzanine CLO tranches. JBBB's risk profile is elevated due to its exposure to leveraged credit, and loans to the software industry. Capital models show that de-leveraging can inflict capital losses on mezzanine CLO tranches, a risk now materializing in both Europe and the US.

Janus Henderson B-BBB CLO ETF (JBBB) is a Buy for income, offering a 6.5% floating yield with minimal duration risk. JBBB's mezzanine CLO tranches benefit from a substantial structural cushion, making principal loss unlikely unless defaults surge far above current levels. The yield will drift lower as the Fed cuts rates, but lower rates also support credit quality by reducing borrower stress.

Janus Henderson B-BBB CLO ETF is rated Buy, offering diversified exposure to floating-rate CLOs amid rising inflation and potential rate hikes. JBBB's portfolio is concentrated in BBB-rated CLOs, reflecting a conservative approach within the B-BBB credit spectrum and spanning 238 issuances across industries. Structural oil market disruptions and elevated prices are expected to sustain inflation, increasing the likelihood of Fed rate hikes that benefit JBBB's floating-rate holdings.

YYY and PCEF generate 13% and 8% monthly yields by buying closed-end funds at discounts, bypassing the NAV erosion risk tied to options strategies. JBBB targets mezzanine CLO tranches for floating-rate monthly income, carrying a near-zero equity beta of 0.17 and a lean 0.47% expense ratio.

Collateralized loan obligation ETFs have become one of the fastest-growing corners of fixed income by offering floating-rate coupons, historically low default rates, and yields that outpace investment-grade corporates.

The Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:JAAA) has become the default parking spot for cash-plus money in 2026.

Few tickers make a retail investor flinch quite like one built on collateralized loan obligations.
