Provident Financial Services: Moderate Upside Given Potential Credit Resolution
Provident Financial Services remains a 'Hold' after strong Q2 results and a 25% stock gain over the past year. PFS benefits from robust loan growth, successful Lakeland integration, and expanding fee income but faces rising deposit costs and competitive funding pressures. Credit quality is solid with low charge-offs and manageable NPLs; reserve coverage appears sufficient even with senior housing exposure.
