The online video company will repurchase up to $20 million worth of its shares, as it sits on a cash pile and a major investment that combined are worth more than twice its market value

SHENZHEN, China, June 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xunlei Limited (“Xunlei” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: XNET), a leading technology company providing distributed cloud services in China, today announced that the board of directors of the Company (the “Board”) has approved a new share repurchase program under which the Company may repurchase up to US$20 million in value of its ADSs or common shares over the next 12 months (the “2026 Share Repurchase Program”) starting from July 1st, 2026. The Board will review the 2026 Share Repurchase Program periodically and, if necessary, adjust its size and terms as necessary.

Xunlei Limited had been essentially stuck for months, but there is reason to think the stock is heading for a change in direction. The stock has yet to recover prior losses, but it appears to have stabilized with no new closing lows, and it seems support has something to do with it. The recently released Q1 FY2026 report was good enough to support a move higher, although a move lower cannot be ruled out.

XNET has really fallen off in recent months, but it has done better more recently with an assist from the latest quarterly report. The rebound in the stock shows XNET has support behind it, but that is not the main reason why XNET has a good shot at trading higher. The balance sheet suggests XNET deserves a higher valuation than the current one, because you can get a lot for not a whole lot.

Xunlei Limited reported mixed fourth-quarter results with better-than-expected sales offset by declining margins. GAAP results were negatively impacted by the reduced fair market value of the company's stake in panoramic camera market leader Arashi Vision, better known as Insta360. Xunlei continues to trade at a steep discount to NAV as investors grapple with the timing of a potential special dividend following the anticipated monetization of the Arashi Vision stake.
