US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded their strongest weekly inflows in more than three months last week, underscoring renewed institutional demand even as the broader crypto market turned sharply lower at the start of this week amid escalating geopolitical tensions. Bitcoin and most other major cryptocurrencies fell sharply overnight, in synch with equity futures and other financial market products.  The dollar price of bitcoin was down 2.15% over 24 hours to $92,989, having come close to $98K last week, but was largely flat over the past seven days.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and Silver (SLV) have sharply diverged, setting up a contrarian long BTC, short SLV pair trade opportunity. SLV's recent 150–200% rally appears late-cycle, with realized volatility now exceeding BTC and risk/reward skewed negatively. BTC is gaining regulatory clarity and technical support, while SLV faces risks from margin hikes and substitution at high prices.

Uncertainty about the economy will likely lead to Bitcoin price volatility.  Catalysts that have driven Bitcoin higher over the past several years have mostly played out.

The S&P 500 is the most well-known benchmark, and buying an ETF focused on this index could have yielded good long-term returns.
