Investors looking to gain exposure to growth stocks often turn to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for diversification, cost efficiency, and ease of trading. Among the most popular options are Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF (NASDAQ: VONG) and Schwab U.S. Large-Cap Growth ETF (NYSE: SCHG).

SCHG charges a slightly lower expense ratio than VONG and manages a larger asset base. VONG's portfolio holds roughly twice as many stocks while also leaning more heavily into the technology sector.

Both funds share identical expense ratios, but VONG offers a slightly higher dividend yield and holds more stocks. MGK has delivered a higher 1-year total return and larger technology sector tilt, while VONG spreads its bets across nearly 400 holdings.

The Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF (VONG) was launched on September 20, 2010, and is a passively managed exchange traded fund designed to offer broad exposure to the Large Cap Growth segment of the US equity market.

VONG has delivered stronger recent returns and lower volatility than IWO, but IWO offers broader small-cap growth exposure. IWO comes with a higher expense ratio, but a slightly higher yield and much lower average price-to-earnings ratio across its holdings.

VUG and VONG have similar expense ratios and nearly identical dividend yields. VONG holds more stocks and shows slightly lower volatility, while VUG has delivered a marginally stronger 1-year return.
