Apple Inc. (AAPL) announced Monday that Tim Cook will transition to executive chairman, while John Ternus will become CEO effective September 1. Ternus has served as senior vice president of hardware engineering since 2021.

The metaverse is rapidly gaining traction, and investors are scrambling to get in on the action with cheap metaverse stocks. As technology continues to advance, the concept of a fully immersive, interconnected virtual world is becoming increasingly tangible.

In its latest report released last December, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) estimates that the digital economy now represents 10% of the total U.S. GDP, or $2.6 trillion.  The digital economy is also growing at an average annual growth rate of 7.1%.
