Someone asked me the other day, “What are the hot themes for the new year?”  To start the year, we have seen some pretty impressive outsized performance from several key investment themes.

NYSE: CCJ, among the largest producers of uranium in the world, has risen by 161% in the last year, for instance.

Commodities of all kinds have been performing especially well as of late. Uranium is especially well-positioned to navigate 2026's markets.

The Sprott Junior Uranium Miners ETF offers concentrated exposure to small-cap uranium miners, amplifying both upside and downside in the uranium cycle. URNJ is highly sensitive to uranium price movements, rewarding patient investors during sector corrections and recoveries, but comes with significant volatility. The long-term uranium outlook remains bullish, driven by global nuclear expansion, data center power needs, and persistent supply deficits, favoring junior miners.

The IAEA projects global nuclear capacity to grow by more than 160% by 2050 as it becomes indispensable to achieving clean energy ambitions. $3 trillion of investment would be needed to solve global power shortages in the next 25 years, according to Bank of America.
