AI-driven data center power demand is reviving nuclear energy, lifting ETFs tied to uranium miners as well as nuclear power generators.

According to a research report from National Bank Capital Markets (NBCM) Canadian ETFs attracted a record-breaking $22.3 billion in net inflows during January. This figure represents a 32% increase over the previous record set in December 2025 and marks the first time the domestic market has exceeded the $20 billion threshold in a single month.

Reliable power, including nuclear, data-center efficiency, and grid capacity are now core drivers of returns from stocks outside of the tech sector benefitting from the AI boom as demand ramps. Investors are finding opportunity in small- and mid-cap companies that operate in concentrated markets with limited competition.
