Let The AI Craze Pay You Monthly Income

The Kensington Hedged Premium Income ETF offers S&P 500 exposure with downside protection, targeting a 9% annualized distribution paid monthly. KHPI and QQQH employ active derivative strategies to limit downside, sacrificing some upside for insurance-like protection during volatile or declining markets. Both funds' distributions are currently classified as a return of capital, providing potential tax deferral benefits for long-term taxable investors.

NEOS Nasdaq-100 Hedged Equity Income ETF (QQQH) is rated a sell, despite delivering its promised monthly premium and downside hedge. QQQH has significantly underperformed both the Nasdaq-100 and its passive collar benchmark, compounding at 9.91% vs. 20.41% and trailing by 3.29% annually over five years. The fund's downside protection proved minimal, saving less than 2% in the worst quarter since 2008, while sacrificing substantial upside.

2 Covered Call ETFs You Should Ditch Before It's Too Late

Covered call ETFs offer abnormal income and access to asset classes lacking yield, though downside protection is rarely effective in practice. Alpha generation is not the goal; these funds suit investors prioritizing high income or absolute return over chasing alpha. However, not all covered call ETFs can do this job.
