Nvidia and Palantir have been two prominent names riding the AI investing wave that's captivated the markets this year. However, questions surrounding valuations exceeding fundamentals are starting to surface.

On paper, big data analytics giant Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:PLTR) still represents one of the strongest statistical performances among major publicly traded enterprises. Since the start of the year, PLTR stock has moved up over 152%.

Few companies embody the market's enthusiasm—and its anxiety—around artificial intelligence as sharply as Palantir Technologies Inc. (Ticker: PLTR).

Micron smashed its fiscal Q4 earnings with beats across the board and positive guidance on Tuesday, which should gives bulls more room to run. However, its largest peer in the semiconductor space, Nvidia, could be heading in the opposite direction.

In the lexicon of story stocks, Palantir (PLTR) is undoubtedly one of the more recent entrants. A three-year run in which the shares surged nearly 1,870% confirms as much.

Nvidia has been sitting pretty atop the list of largest companies. After its fiscal year 2026 Q2 earnings, it sent a message that it plans to remain there.

Up over 500% within the past year and over 100% year-to-date, Palantir investors have had plenty to cheer about, but is it still top tier after its latest Q2 earnings? Yes indeed, the company topped $1 billion in revenue last quarter, smashing Wall Street expectations.

Last week was mixed-to-downbeat for Wall Street.

Palantir and Berkshire Hathaway continue to confound investors with eye-popping returns in their  respective ways. Short-term traders now have the ability play the market fluctuations in these names with single-stock ETFs.
