Shares of Polaris rose more than 11% on Tuesday after the US power-sports vehicle maker said it would spin off its Indian Motorcycle division and projected a third-quarter profit, beating Wall Street's expectations for a loss.

Powersports vehicle maker Polaris (PII 11.26%) announced a restructuring move today that sent shares zooming higher. The maker of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), side-by-side vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and boats is separating its Indian Motorcycle business into a stand-alone company.
