The launch of multi-token crypto products (i.e., crypto index ETFs) signals that many issuers believe the next growth phase in crypto ETFs will be driven by investors who want a rules-based basket approach rather than single asset calls.

For years, U.S. investors looking to gain crypto exposure have faced an unenviable dilemma: either go all-in on a single-asset ETF or wrestle with the complexities of managing wallets, exchanges, and private keys. Neither option offered the one thing most investors actually want: diversified exposure in a simple, regulated format.

At this point, it's no longer just a crypto-friendly government propelling movement forward — it's real regulations that have been created. Previously, I wrote about the passing of the GENIUS Act into law.

With this development, Hashdex and Nasdaq Global Indexes build on their partnership and track record for crypto index product innovation, expanding  the first multi-asset spot crypto ETP in the United States.

While crypto adoption will likely always be price-driven to some extent, regulatory and political tailwinds have driven a steady influx of launches throughout the year despite price volatility. We are not even halfway through 2025 and have already seen around 27 crypto ETF launches.

During VettaFi's Exchange conference in March, market experts from around the globe gathered to discuss the latest strategies and portfolio approaches. One such expert was Samir Kerbage, CIO of Hashdex.

On Tuesday, Hashdex Asset Management released the Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF (NCIQ). According to Hashdex, NCIQ is the first multi-asset spot crypto ETF to be made available to U.S. traders.
