Although the revenue and EPS for Morgan Stanley (MS) give a sense of how its business performed in the quarter ended September 2025, it might be worth considering how some key metrics compare with Wall Street estimates and the year-ago numbers.

Equities trading revenue jumped 35% to $4.12 billion – far above expectations of a 6.6% increase.

Morgan Stanley and Bank of America both beat Wall Street estimates for third quarter earnings. It was a very special quarter for Morgan as its trading revenue finally surpassed that of rival Goldman Sachs.

Morgan Stanley (MS) came out with quarterly earnings of $2.8 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.08 per share. This compares to earnings of $1.88 per share a year ago.
