The VanEck Morningstar International Moat ETF (MOTI) was launched on 07/13/2015, and is a smart beta exchange traded fund designed to offer broad exposure to the Foreign Large Value ETF category of the market.

The VanEck Morningstar International Moat ETF has underperformed compared to other international value funds. MOTI's heavy allocation to consumer staples and Chinese equities has hindered its performance. The ETF's gradual shift towards growth-oriented equities has so far failed to pay off.
