Gold and silver were not the only metals to see breakout performances in the later half of 2025.  Much like these other metals, copper also closed out last year in a highly favorable position.

Wall Street put up a modest show in the final quarter of 2025, with the S&P 500 advancing only 1.9%, the Dow Jones gaining 3.3% and the Nasdaq Composite adding about 2.1%. The small-cap index Russell 2000 added 1.6% during that period.

Hundreds of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) launched in the last year alone, further crowding an already-dense field and making it more difficult for investors to assess which might be a good fit for their portfolios.

Plenty of attention from advisors and investors has been focused on gold, silver, and copper as of late, but those aren't the only metals worth looking at. One metal that may be flying under the radar for many investors and advisors is lithium.

Gold prices hit an apex in October before taking a breather as 2025 winds down — a chance for investors to buy the dip. This could be a golden opportunity to get exposure to a pair of ETFs before another rally ensues: the Sprott Physical Gold Trust (PHYS) and the Sprott Gold Miners ETF (SGDM).

In cases where an asset is in the midst a strong rally, investors are typically gripped with the fear that they already missed out on the major move. That doesn't appear to be the case with gold, which should be approached with a strategic allocation strategy in mind as opposed to simply chasing gains.

Realizing the importance of critical minerals to meet future  energy demands, the White House has made strategic investments in certain companies. These include MP Materials, Lithium Americas Corp, and Trilogy Metals Inc.
