Honda's latest results paint a sharply weaker picture of the company's performance, with both operating and net income slipping into loss for the first time in decades. The company reported an operating loss of ¥414.3 billion and a net loss of ¥423.9 billion for the year ended March 2026, its first annual loss since it was founded in 1948.

Honda swung to an operating loss of 414.3 billion yen ($2.61 billion) for the fiscal year ending March. Both Citi and Nomura have kept a buy rating on Honda.

The Japanese automaker reported a $2.7 billion loss amid EV whiplash in the U.S., its biggest market.
