Corning talks much about Springboard, an initiative through which it adds incremental revenues. That's OK. But I don't think the rhetoric is enough to justify the stock's high valuation. I'd rather see what, exactly, is driving the company's future prospects. When I do that, I see the GLW's valuation as quite reasonable — even appealing. So, I'm at “Buy.”. Long-time (back to 1851) glass expert GLW has continually evolved along with the world, embracing new technologies every step of the way. Today, AI is the obvious star.

The veteran industrial company also manufactures Gorilla Glass, widely used in smartphones and computer monitors. Its growth rates have been impressive for such a well-established company, but it's a question whether they're sustainable.

The massive amounts of money being spent on AI CapEx is going to continue, says Cory Johnson. He says the data center buildout "is absolutely happening" so companies can capture their corner of the AI market.

"Earnings season should be pretty strong," says Randy Hare, which he believes is supported by accelerated profits and geopolitical resiliency. He sees opportunities in the market sell-off but warns crude oil's volatile price action will complicate which stocks will benefit.
