It may not be the end of the quarter yet, but we have made it through summer, and that seems like a good checkpoint to evaluate the top ETF investment themes YTD. Let's take a moment to look in this year's thematic ETF rearview mirror.

GAMR, ALAI, ARKX, PFI and ONLN shine as strong Q2 earnings lift sectors from gaming and AI to retail and aerospace.

At this point, many advisors have come to agree that the key to navigating 2025's uncertain market is to do so through a well-diversified portfolio.  There are plenty of reasons to consider building a diversified portfolio.

Some of the top-performing themes of this year totally make sense given current geopolitical and macro headwinds. Those include gold, defense, uranium and nuclear.

The weather has warmed up and schools are about to let out in the Northeast. That means more time for fun for teenagers like my 15-year old son, who enjoys listening to music and playing video games.

When I survey the thematic landscape and the top-performing themes so far this year, it looks quite reminiscent of the year 2020 during the last Trump administration. Themes like gold mining, video gaming, online retail, and streaming media are at the top of the performance list.

Amplify has made a notable update to its video game tech ETF.  The Amplify Video Game Tech ETF (GAMR) has changed its underlying index and is now tracking the VettaFi Video Game Leaders Index (VGAME), effective January 28.

Holiday sales growth slowed this year, but a record 183.4M people plan to shop in stores and online from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday.
