Ethereum has lost roughly 61% of its value since the start of 2026. For traders holding ProShares Ultra Ether ETF ( NYSEARCA:ETHT ), a 2x daily leveraged product tied to Ethereum's price, that decline has been far more punishing than simply owning ETH outright.

ProShares Ultra Ether ETF ( NYSEARCA:ETHT ) launched in June 2024 with a promise of 2x daily leveraged exposure to Ethereum through futures contracts.

The ProShares Ultra Ethereum ETF is a 2x leveraged fund that has seen its AUM nearly triple year-to-date. Despite a 35% year to date total return for spot ETH ETFs, ETHT is actually negative on the year due to rebalance decay. My technical view of Ethereum is one that shows imminent weakness, as support levels under $4,000 per coin may soon be tested.
