There's a new ETF that offers spot exposure to Dogecoin. It could enable fresh capital flows into the king of the meme coins.

The launch of the first-ever Dogecoin (DOGE 1.39%) exchange-traded fund (ETF) kicked off to much fanfare on Sept. 18. On the first day of trading, nearly $17 million flowed into the ETF, and even longtime industry watchers were surprised at how much trading volume there was in the REX-Osprey DOGE ETF (DOJE 2.65%).

Last week, the SEC approved rule changes that are likely to further result in an even greater supply of cryptocurrency related exchange traded products. In January 2024, the first wave of spot bitcoin ETFs began trading in the U.S. Demand for these products was stronger than many expected, including me.
