SAN FRANCISCO, May 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bitwise Asset Management, the global crypto asset manager with $11 billion in client assets (as of April 1, 2026), plans to close and liquidate the Bitwise Trendwise BTC/ETH and Treasuries Rotation Strategy ETF (BTOP) and the Bitwise Web3 ETF (BWEB).

Three blockchain and cryptocurrency-linked exchange-traded funds have surged into the market's top decile as momentum scores spiked sharply this week, suggesting these funds may be on the cusp of a breakout rally.

Bitwise Asset Management has acquired ETC Group, marking the firm's expansion into Europe.  San Francisco-based Bitwise's acquisition of London-based ETC Group will add nine European-listed crypto exchange-traded products to Bitwise's lineup, bringing total assets under management above $4.5 billion.

In its latest report released last December, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) estimates that the digital economy now represents 10% of the total U.S. GDP, or $2.6 trillion.  The digital economy is also growing at an average annual growth rate of 7.1%.
