Amid a higher-for-longer interest rate environment, PIMCO's launch of the PIMCO Inflation PLUS Active ETF (PCPI) is a timely addition to its active ETF lineup. The fund seeks to provide a more robust inflation hedge compared to traditional TIPS.

PIMCO Active Bond ETF delivers a 5% yield via an actively managed, multi-sector bond portfolio with a 6-year duration. BOND has outperformed both the BND benchmark and inflation since inception, but its share price remains below initial levels due to 2021-2022 rate hikes. Since June 2023, BOND has underperformed peers like PYLD, BINC, and JPIE in total return and risk metrics.

As the hunt for yield and stability remains a cornerstone of portfolios in 2026, a group of iShares short-term bond ETFs have made a strategic move to the Big Board today.  Four prominent short-term fixed-income vehicles have officially transitioned their primary listing to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Todd Rosenbluth, head of research at VettaFi, joined Nate Geraci on this week's ETF Prime to discuss five emerging flow trends as the ETF industry tracks toward $1.8 trillion in inflows for 2026. The industry pulled in roughly $150 billion in January, building on the record $1.5 trillion gathered in 2025.

Bouvel bought 85,742 shares of BOND; estimated trade size of $8.02 million (quarterly average pricing). Quarter-end position valuation rose by $7.94 million, reflecting both trading and market price changes.

FSM Wealth Advisors bought 42,229 shares of BOND in the fourth quarter; the estimated transaction value was $3.95 million based on quarterly average pricing. Meanwhile, the quarter-end value of the position increased by $3.83 million, reflecting both additional shares and price movements.

SimpliFi sold 108,047 shares of BOND, with an estimated trade value of $10.11 million (based on quarterly average prices). As of December 31, the fund reported holding 105,312 shares of the ETF worth about $9.8 million.

PIMCO is broadening its ETF lineup. It has launched a new strategy that blends passive equity exposure with active fixed income management.

Heirloom Wealth Management added 40,231 shares, with an estimated $4.27 million increase in position value. The trade represented an approximately 9% change relative to 13F reportable assets under management.
