Considering how well bitcoin has performed over the last couple of months, it shouldn't come as a surprise that many advisors and investors may want to add exposure to their portfolio. Bitcoin has continued to rally to new high as the months have gone on.

There's been a growing sense of optimism around Bitcoin (BTC -3.26%) this year. The lead cryptocurrency set a string of new highs as confidence grew and institutional investment poured in.

Bitcoin has raced to another all-time high. As of midday October 6, the largest cryptocurrency by market value held above $125,700.
