My Income Portfolio: The Knight's Move
Inspired by the horse race in the 2026 Palio di Siena, I made a financial move that I hope will be just as clever as the knight's move in chess. I decided to close out two positions in my Cupolone portfolio that I wasn't entirely convinced about, raising cash to reinvest when the opportunity arises. The purpose of this move is to use this liquidity in securities with better overall NAV performance and a greater likelihood of long-term success.

ADX: The 8% Payout Is Not What Worries Me
Adams Diversified Equity Fund is rated HOLD due to a historically narrow 1.75% discount, limiting upside for new buyers. ADX's 2024 managed-distribution policy is supported by portfolio returns, with 91% of payouts from long-term capital gains and NAV rising despite distributions. The portfolio closely tracks the S&P 500 sector weights but is more actively managed, with 68.1% turnover and selective stock overweights.

How To Invest $100,000 In A Retiree's SWAN Income Portfolio
The bull market that started in 2022 still continues, making the market somewhat overvalued, and we recommend proven strategies over investing in what is popular. A SWAN (Sleep Well At Night) income portfolio aims for consistent income, growth, and lower volatility through diversification and strategic planning, especially suited for income investors and retirees. We provide a framework for a long-term portfolio with multiple buckets that is flexible to suit individual needs, limitations, and preferences.

My Income Portfolio: The Music Of Dividends
A note is the basic element of musical language: each one represents a sound, and through their combination music takes shape. As with notes on a staff, infinite are the combinations of financial instruments through which investors' portfolios take shape. My current portfolio consists of 28 securities that play a music generated by the flow of dividends against the backdrop of a rising NAV for most of them.

2 High-Yield Picks Built To Survive The AI Bubble
The risk of AI-driven correction is definitely material. However, stepping completely outside of the AI space might again turn out to be a costly move as it has been in the past couple of years. In this context, as an income investor, I like AI names (large-cap technology indices) that offer some downside protection.

10 Best CEFs This Month: Average Yield Of Near 10% (July 2026)
The article presents a rigorously screened list of 10 top closed-end funds, or CEFs, for income investors, offering an average 10% plus yield and nearly 7.7% NAV discount. Selections emphasize sector diversification, long-term outperformance, sustainable distributions, and attractive valuations, with a focus on both equity and credit-oriented CEFs. CEFs are generally characterized by higher volatility and deeper drawdowns than the broader market. For these reasons, they are not suited for everyone.

ADX: Your Grandfather's Fund Is Still Beating The Market
Adams Diversified Equity Fund has delivered exceptional long-term total returns, outperforming SPY since its inception, primarily through consistent distributions. ADX employs a managed distribution policy, paying 8% of NAV annually, ensuring transparency and aligning payouts with NAV performance rather than management discretion. The fund's discount to NAV has narrowed significantly, making current entry less attractive for value-seekers, though ADX remains a robust long-term holding.
